Sylvia Ludwig

Born in Dresden in 1979, Sylvia Ludwig completed her Abitur in Schwerin in 1998 before training as a ceramist from 2000 to 2003. In 2003, she won the 2nd prize at the national Die gute Form competition, earning both a scholarship and significant recognition. Since 2007, she has worked independently in her own workshop, specializing in porcelain and combining traditional techniques with modern design. Her work includes small series, individual pieces, and project-based creations, showcased in exhibitions and ceramic markets across Germany and internationally.

A member of the Landesverband Angewandte Kunst MV e.V. since 2018, Sylvia has received several awards, including the 3rd prize at the 2023 Ceramics Market at the Grassi Museum in Leipzig. In 2025, she was included in the Michelangelo Foundation's Homo Faber Guide.

Sylvia’s work has been featured in numerous exhibitions, including Trappegaleriet in Nakskov and Neo at St. Spiritus Greifswald. Known for her contemporary approach to porcelain, she continues to gain recognition for her craftsmanship.
