Anton Bertelsmann
The Berlin-based artist Anton Bertelsmann (*1999) explores the theme of transformation in his work. Using a wide variety of techniques and materials, he observes everyday objects as well as surfaces and forms, and seeks to rethink them by altering them. Through techniques such as paper design, printing, and weaving, familiar forms are transformed, rearranged, distorted, or fragmented.
Because of his training as a carpenter, Anton Bertelsmann places great value on craftsmanship and the creative process. In his view, it is only through working by hand that his work gains value, and the imperfections that arise in the process are among its most interesting aspects. He is currently studying textile and material design at Kunsthochschule Weißensee Berlin
